Experienced Kitty-Loving Housekeeper Needed in Kailua (Oahu, HI)

Job Overview: A couple in Kailua is looking for an experienced, proactive, detail-oriented, and cat-loving Housekeeper to provide weekly support in maintaining their home. This role combines professional housekeeping with daily care for the family's three beloved cats. The ideal candidate has extensive professional housekeeping experience, takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and naturally notices and attends to what needs to be done without requiring frequent direction.

Household Responsibilities:

-Perform general housekeeping and deep cleaning duties throughout the home while maintaining consistent, high standards of cleanliness

-Run occasional household errands

-Follow instructions and household preferences carefully when specific guidance is provided

-Maintain the home while the principals may be away or unavailable

-Adjust housekeeping tasks as needed when home projects, repairs, or contractors are present in the home

-Maintain a high level of discretion and respect for the employers' privacy while working in their home

Cat Care Responsibilities: 

-Dedicate approximately one hour each workday to caring for and engaging with the family's three cats

-Provide one to two feedings per day according to the family's established routine

-Spend intentional time offering companionship, attention, and playtime

-Patiently build trust with cats who may need extra time and care when becoming comfortable with someone new

-Understand and be sensitive to different cat personalities, including knowing when and how to approach a more skittish or cautious cat

-Monitor the cats' general well-being and promptly communicate any changes or concerns to the employers

Home Details:

-Approximately 1,500 square feet

-3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home

-One bedroom is currently used as a home office

Ideal Kitty Housekeeper: The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who takes pride in creating a clean, organized, and welcoming home. They genuinely love cats, work well independently, and have the experience and judgment to confidently manage the household responsibilities of the position.

-Extensive professional housekeeping experience with strong knowledge of appropriate cleaning standards and frequencies

-Previous cat care experience and an understanding of different cat personalities, including shy or skittish cats

-Proactive, observant, and able to recognize and address household needs without waiting to be asked

-Dependable, trustworthy, and consistent

-Professional, discreet, and respectful of the family's privacy

-Able to follow instructions and household preferences carefully when guidance is provided

-Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

Expected Job Duration: Through February 2027

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM

*Guaranteed 32 hours a week

*The family has some flexibility for the right candidate. The schedule may be adjusted to 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, or a portion of the weekly hours may be moved to a fifth day.

Compensation: $65-$70 per hour, DOE
